This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to drive a heavy rigid vehicle safely in compliance with relevant state/territory road and traffic authority licence requirements and regulations including road rules for heavy rigid vehicles.
It includes maintaining systematic and efficient control of all vehicle functions, monitoring traffic and road conditions, managing vehicle condition and performance, and effectively managing hazardous situations.
Driving is performed with limited or minimum supervision, and with duty of care responsibility for self and others in achieving the prescribed outcomes.
Assessments will be recorded as per the WA Department of Transport policy.
It is a Department of Transport requirement that a training unit of competence must be completed before assessment can be done. In the event that you are deemed not yet competent in this unit, assessment will be postponed until further training is completed.

All clients must meet Department of Transport Customer Eligibility requirements for eye sight and health and medical issues to proceed with course and driving test.

*Some pre-training study and answering written questions is required to be completed, prior to attendance.
*Student required to wear enclosed shoes, High Vis PPE avail if required. Kitchen facilities avail in Busselton only.
