TRUCK DRIVING HR, HC AND MC.

No. As we are a registered training organization working in partnership with the Department of Transport you are able to do your truck driving training and assessment through us without a learners permit.

The number of lessons you will need will depend on which vehicle you plan to conduct your licence in.

Expected number of lessons (on average):

  • Heavy Rigid Synchromesh Manual (Restricted Licence) on average  8 hours are normally required to enable you to pass the practical assessment.
  • Heavy Rigid Road Ranger Manual (Unrestricted Licence) on average  8 hours are normally required to enable you to pass the practical assessment.

Syncromesh is a style of manual gearbox similar to driving a manual car (or single clutch movement) using an eight speed gearbox. Obtaining your HR licence in a Syncromesh gearbox will result in a Restricted HR Licence. (Restricted to auto and synchromesh)

Road Ranger is a style of manual gearbox that requires gears to be changed using a double de-clutching method in a 18 speed gearbox. Obtaining your HR licence in a Road Ranger gearbox will result in an Unrestricted HR Licence.

For Heavy Rigid (HR) class you will need to have held a C class Car Licence for a minimum of two years.

For Heavy Combination (HC) class you will need to have held a MR or HR licence for a minimum of one year.

For Multi Combination (MC) class you will need to have held a HR or HC licence for a minimum of one year.

MC cources are available in auto and road-ranger gearbox but if you hold an unrestricted HR or HC you will obtain an unrestricted MC however if you have a restricted HR or HC you will obtain the MC with the same restriction if you choose the auto gearbox.

Forklift

We are a WorkSafe accredited training organization and offer a two day forklift course. TLILIC0003 is a unit of competency and is delivered via a combination of structured course content, a theory assessment, calculations assessment and a practical driving assessment at our depot in Busselton or on site at arranged workplaces for group bookings. Our trainer is an Appointed High Risk Work Assessor who is authorized through WorkSafe WA to assess in accordance with a Mandated National Assessment Instrument.

Once you are deemed competent you will be eligible to apply to WorkSafe WA for a Licence to Perform High Risk Work, classification LF.

To be eligible to complete the course, you must

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have fluent English, literacy and numeracy skills at a level sufficient to read write and interpret workplace documentation
  • Be able to provide two forms of identification (one with a photo)
  • Provide two (2) passport sized photos
  • Allow 7 days prior to the course to study the training package
  • Students need to be wearing fully enclosed and appropriate footwear such as safety boots to complete the course
  • Other required PPE will be supplied for use during the course.

Upon booking in for a course you will receive a course booklet for pre-reading before the course. To confirm your place on the course, payment in full is required.

General FAQ

All lessons must now be pre-paid through our online booking system.

Cancellations or rescheduling of lessons are to be managed by the student through the booking portal. A fee may be applicable.

All lessons require a deposit to be paid upon within 48 hours of making the booking.

Cancellation fees apply with less than two working days notice.

All bookings that remain unpaid after this time will be cancelled and open to other bookings.
